BUFFALO, NY – Finally! A sweep! After going 3-0 last weekend, my overall record has improved to 11-19. I’m inching closer and closer back to the .500 mark. With that, here are the best FREE NFL Picks For Rugby Fans:

Can Ray Rice find a way to be productive against that stout Jets' run defense?

New York Jets (5-5) at Baltimore Ravens (4-6): Both teams are looking for redemption Sunday after taking disappointing losses on the road last week. Luckily, the Ravens are at home this weekend and considering the Jets are 1-4 on the road, Baltimore should have the upper hand in this one. However, “should” is the key word. Through 11 weeks, the Jets have alternated losses and wins, bringing their record to an even 5-5… BUT… I’m going with the Ravens. Joe Flacco is a much safer bet at quarterback than Geno Smith, which helps out the Ravens’ case. Smith’s inconsistency makes me very weary to choose New York any week because who knows which version of the Jets will show up. Rex’s front seven on defense can hang with anyone, but his defensive backs are a big liability. If the Ravens want to win Sunday, Flacco needs to take advantage of the weak New York secondary.
Ravens: 24-16

Dallas Cowboys (5-5) at New York Giants (4-6): Wow! Can you believe that the Giants have won four straight to give them a 4-6 record through 10 games? With a win this week the Giants will be one game back in the NFC East race… but if New York loses, the Cowboys will be tied with Philadelphia for the division lead… I’m taking the Giants for the second straight week. Sorry, but the Cowboys have trouble winning on the road. If Dallas wants to be considered a legitimate threat in the NFC, they need to win on the road. It was nice to see New York’s star defensive end Jason Peirre-Paul, showing glimpses of the 2011 JPP version last Sunday – which he can build off of this weekend. Not to mention, Andre Brown gives the Giants a running game that they’ve been looking for all season.
Giants: 33-24

Denver Broncos (9-1) at New England Patriots (7-3): Will New England finally lose at home Sunday? The Broncos are bringing a lot of momentum to Foxboro after taking down Kansas City last weekend, so it is certainly a possibility. Or will New England use last Monday’s questionable ending to their advantage and come out seeking blood? Either way, I’m going with the road team in this one. The Patriots’ biggest weakness is their defense, mostly due to injury. And Denver’s strongest part of their team… Their offense, led by the great Peyton Manning, will be able to take advantage of the Pats’ D. Not to mention Wes Welker is on track to play this weekend, giving Manning another great weapon.
Broncos: 42-28
