PRESS RELEASE: Glendale, Colorado to host U.S. Red Bull Uni 7s Qualifier at Infinity Park for the International University Rugby Series

Glendale, CO (aka RugbyTown USA) – On August 25, Infinity Park will host eight of the best collegiate Rugby 7s teams in the country for the U.S. qualifying round for the Red Bull Uni 7s tournament. The international tournament will see 11 of the best universities from across the world compete in the global finals, which will take place in the city of Bath, England on September 17, 2016.

The participating teams for the Red Bull Uni 7s at Infinity Park tournament are below:

·         Arizona State University

·         Clemson University

·         Lindenwood University

·         University of Colorado

·         University of Denver

·         University of Utah

·         University of Wyoming

Each university making it to the Finals must prove themselves as the best in their country by winning a national competition, which in turn qualifies them for the final shoot-out at the Recreation Ground in Bath, United Kingdom, on September 17, 2016. That shoot-out will see the 10 qualified universities – plus reigning champions and hosts Bath University – battle through group stages, with the top two teams going on to play in the final in front of a capacity 14,000 crowd as a warm-up to a Bath Rugby Aviva Premiership clash.

The U.S.-leg of the Red Bull Uni 7s tournament will be from 11AM – 7PM MDT at Infinity Park on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Tournament attendance is free for all spectators!

ABOUT INFINITY PARK
Infinity Park, the first rugby-specific stadium in the U.S., covers eight city blocks. At the heart is the rugby field, called a “pitch,” which is the home to Glendale’s men’s and women’s rugby clubs, both named the Raptors. Measuring 70 meters by 100 meters, the pitch was designed to look good and perform well amid the action above: The 9-inch sand base field supports natural gross sod, which is reinforced with polypropylene fibers. Stadium lighting allows matches at any time of day. In addition to Raptors games, Infinity Park hosts multiple open tournaments every year.
