USA Sevens Rugby Press Release
A Jon Prusmack

WHITE PLAINS, NY “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of A. Jon Prusmack, owner of United World Sports, the USA Sevens, the Collegiate Rugby Championship, Rugby Today and Rhino Rugby USA. He was a man of immense and varied talents: entrepreneur, businessman, publisher, and artist.

Jon was a lifelong champion of the sport of rugby in America. His devotion as a player, coach, referee, publisher and investor in the game was a driving force behind rugby’s development in the USA. All of us who were fortunate to have worked with Jon feel an inexpressible loss today.”

From a personal standpoint, Jon was instrumental in getting Rugby Wrap Up off the ground, giving this pundit the in-stadium hosting privileges at the Vegas 7s for a run of great tournaments. His passing hits home and leaves us at RWU a bit more hollow today.

But we all know, Jon, that you would not put up with any moaning. So we’ll toast you on a job well done and make like Sisyphus in pushing that ball up the hill – with you knowingly looking down from your VIP seat in the sky.

Here’s to you, then: Thank you for blasting through mountain of rock and carving a path for the rest of us to navigate. You will be missed but not forgotten.

Rest in peace, friend.
