PRESS RELEASE from Tiger Rugby re partnership in Stellenbosch, South Africa

COLUMBUS, OH – As we continually strive to further develop our professional player development pathway, Tiger Rugby is excited to announce yet another initiative to provide athletes opportunities to accelerate their growth. In partnership with Caylix Sport, we are in the final stages of launching a Tiger Rugby full residency academy in Stellenbosch, South Africa. This full immersion experience in the heart of South African rugby will initially be overseen by former Springbok/Blitzbokke 7s legend Frankie Horne, developing players holistically across areas such as skills development, strength and conditioning, nutrition and mental toughness.

This is an unparalleled development experience in World Rugby”, said Tiger Rugby Directory James Walker. “On the back of our successful US tour with Sir Graham Henry, and strong working relationships with the likes of The Rugby Site and the soon to be announced Coaches Alliance, we expect many more luminary coaches to join Frankie once we launch later this year. In the interim we are doubling down back in the US with player development and identification camps at the world class IMG Academy facilities in Bradenton, Florida (Click Here for more information and to register). We had great meetings with the folks from Caylix Sport over the last few months and were very impressed by them from day one.

Le Roux Conradie, CEO of Caylix Sport added, “When entering into a partnership it is key to align with a company that shares the same values and business ethos. With Tiger Rugby, Caylix Sport can develop the needed opportunities and add value within Sevens Rugby. This partnership with Tiger Rugby is very exciting and also a huge privilege. We look forward to sharing our ambition and many success stories soon.

Along with high performance rugby development, the Tiger Rugby Academy (Stellenbosch) will provide all participants with unique and valuable cultural experiences. Aligning with both Caylix Sport and Tiger Rugby’s values of serving the areas around where we live and work, players and coaches in the Academy will engage in activities that contribute to the empowerment of South African communities. The overall goal of these efforts is to equip participants with sport and life skills that improve decision-making and positive behavior.

When asked about the opportunity to partner with Tiger Rugby, Frankie Horne, Head of Sevens Rugby development at Caylix Sport said, “It’s such a privilege to be associated with a brand like Tiger Rugby, and the prospect of working with and shaping tomorrow’s future stars is an exciting one!

Good partnerships are essential in our business” added Paul Holmes, Director of Tiger Rugby. He continued, “We must ensure the highest quality development pathway for our clients and affiliates. The partnership with Caylix Sport and having a Tiger Rugby Academy in Stellenbosch is just another step in ensuring that the opportunities on hand are the best. Le Roux and Frankie are proven in their fields and will strengthen our brand and our high-performance platform.”

We at Tiger Rugby are very excited to open the doors at Tiger Rugby Academy (Stellenbosch) and providing the most comprehensive high performance experience for US based athletes. Tiger Rugby Academy (Stellenbosch) will be accepting our initial 15 to 25 players starting in November of this year. The Tiger Rugby High-Performance camp at IMG Academy in June will be the first opportunity for players to earn an invite for this unique residency experience. Please stay tuned to Tiger Rugby for further announcements regarding schedules and programs.
