NEW YORK, NY – The Sin Bin at O’Brien’s Pub in Midtown Manhattan is always a great place to watch rugby and talk up a storm about this great game. When George “Mac” Robertson, a rugby lifer and partner at RugbyLaw and its fledgling National Rugby Football League, became available just after the cancellations of the Independence Cup and the Hemisphere Cup – (NRFL Rough Riders vs Leicester Tigers at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia and – Canterbury Crusaders Knights against Saracens at the Super Dome in New Orleans – we thought this would be the perfect venue.
And it was.
Mr. Robertson, who still takes the pitch in a front row capacity whenever possible, sat with our Matt McCarthy for a “spirited” interview that touched upon many hot talking points surrounding professional rugby in the United States and abroad.
