CHARLOTTE, NC – When he wasn’t on the pitch as the the Captain of Greenwich High School at the USA Boys High School Championships here in Charlotte, Luke Bienstock was busy. The Dartmouth-bound wing, who also captained the [gridiron] football team, has a drone, camera equipment and a knack for getting cool rugby stuff on camera – and we’re lucky to have him.
Aside from recapping the respective days and groups’ results and filming big chunks of the tourney, Luke also managed to interview HSAA Coach Salty Thompson, USA Eagles legend and Xavier High School Coach Mike Petri and Cedric Vakalahi of Penn High School… Oh, and he edited this piece, too.
It’s great to see the growth of the game on the High School level. The play was excellent. Disciplined, well-coached and creative. And Luke Bienstock is a shining example of that growth… and definitely its creativity.
