NEW YORK, NY – While year 3 of Major League Rugby is approaching too soon for some clubs and not soon enough for others, all have shared varying degrees of one characteristic… change.
Here in New York City, Rugby United NY is undergoing substantial change, apparently not satisfied with an 11-5 record and a Joe Pietersen conversion kick keeping them from a spot in the final.
With that, here is a statement from Mike Tolkin, last year’s Head Coach of a #RUNY staff that is not coming back:
I’d like to wish Kees Lensing all the best for his new role as Head Coach in Seattle. He’s an excellent coach and will be a great asset for the franchise in its upcoming MLR season. I thoroughly enjoyed working together in NY last season, where we accomplished a lot in the club’s inaugural season. Furthermore, I will not be returning to coach RUNY in 2020. The players and staff performed magnificently under challenging conditions throughout the season.
