National Collegiate Rugby: 2022 NCR Women’s All American Teams
NEW YORK, NY – National Collegiate Rugby has announced its 2022 Women’s All-American class, with 69 players representing 34 colleges from 17 states. #NCR expanded to three women’s divisions last fall, naming 23 All-Americans per group, including the inaugural Division II team.
Being named to NCR’s Division I list for the second season in a row are Notre Dame College’s Alivia Leatherman, Northern Iowa’s Jessi Inman, and Iowa State’s Madie Dunn. National champion Michigan and runner-up Notre Dame College tie for the most representation in DI, with four Wolverines and four Falcons being named.
The selection of Telesi Uhatafe gives Southern Nazarene University its first All-American in the program’s first full season of existence. The Euless, Texas native led the Crimson Storm to a conference championship and national quarterfinal appearance last fall.
2022 marked the first year of Women’s Division II, and two DII All-Americans earned the same accolade in Small College last season; Wayne State’s Selma Taylor and Taylor Ference. National Champion Eau Claire and semifinalist Roger Williams both put four players on the team, with Jasmine Dao joining Taylor and Ference in representing the runner-up Wildcats.
Earning their way back into the All-Americans again in 2022 are Endicott’s Tess Merrill and Lee’s Siena Macy. Merrill is joined by five or her National Champion teammates, giving Endicott the most women’s All-Americans of any college across any division. Northern Michigan, which fell 31-19 to the Gulls in the semifinals last fall, scored four All-Americans, including the storming Bianca Rosales.
