PIER 40, NEW YORK CITY – In our quest to bring you Everything Footy & More, we sent Johnathan Wicklow Barberie to the AMNRL match between the New York Knights and Northern Raiders. Aside from being under the lights in a spectacular setting on NYC’s might Hudson River, the match featured all the elements you’d like to find at a sporting event: Hard tackles, strong runs, good-looking supporters and good music.
Adding to the flavor were a number of Funny Talkers, including Matthew “Skinny” Vautin, son of The Footy Show’s, Fatty Vautin, a the Australian NRL star living in Sydney. We got to speak to many of the skilled and entertaining players, like Kirk Miller, a New York rugby legend:
