HOUSTON, TX – It was an excellent weekend for IRB Rugby, specifically with the strong showing and fan support in his steamy southern town. 20,000 fans roared, groaned and gasped as Ireland held on against a very physical Team USA. Credit both organizations, AIG and the folks at BBVA Compass Stadium for a fine showing that left everyone thoroughly entertained.
Our Matt McCarthy was there, along with Johnathan Wicklow Barberie and Declan Yeats, and he was fortunate enough to be on the sidelines just after the hooter to speak with Eagles’ captain Todd Clever, fullback Chris Wyles, lock Lou Stanfill and scrumhalf Mike Petri.
