NEW YORK, NY – When you’re in the Sin Bin at O’Brien’s Bar & Restaurant off Times Square in New York City, you often get to see the biggest names in rugby relaxing, basking in the anonymity that the Big Apple can offer. This was not the case, however, when Wales and British & Irish Lions head coach Warren Gatland stepped in for a late morning coffee.
See, the Sin Bin is also a second home to Rugby Wrap Up and a favorite haunt of our globe-trotting correspondent, Johnathan Wicklow Barberie. But nobody slipped Coach Gatland that intel and after some fast-talking from our man JWB, a weary Warren capitulated…
What transpired was a candid and relaxed chat about all things rugby – and we’ll bring the best parts of that half hour to you soon. But we have here needs to out there now – it’s Coach Gatland’s frank talk re the British & Irish Lions and Brian O’Driscoll. What Coach Gatland didn’t realize was that he’d have to answer to JWB not only on BOD’s inclusion but his potential captaincy as well.
