RWU HQ – As the National Football League continues to spread its wings overseas.
The league recently announced that a game will be played at Twickenham Stadium in 2016. The home of England Rugby will host the St. Louis Rams and a NFC East opponent during Week 7 of the NFL season next year.
“The passion our UK fans have shown for the NFL is overwhelming,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said via NFL.com. “We are very appreciative of the strong and growing fan support, not only for the games, but for all of the related NFL events we host in the UK throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming new fans to their first NFL game in 2016 and welcoming back thousands of others that are helping our sport grow to new levels of popularity in London and beyond.”
The Rams’ opponent will be whichever team finishes in the same spot of the NFC East that St. Louis finishes in the NFC West.
This is the Rams’ first trip back to London since 2012.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Indianapolis Colts at Wembley Stadium Week 4, while the Cincinnati Bengals will host the Washington Redskins Week 8 at Wembley.
