USA Rugby Chairman of the Board Bob Latham reelected to World Rugby Executive Committee

LAFAYETTE, CO– On the heels of announcing that the United States has been awarded a seat on their expanded Council, World Rugby has again granted North American rugby a position of high importance: continuing Bob Latham’s service on the expanded World Rugby Executive Committee.
A new governance model was introduced by World Rugby in 2015, a change that will see the composition and remit of World Rugby’s Executive Committee extended to deliver an even more modern, dynamic and streamlined governance structure. It will also ensure the Executive Committee benefits from an independent voice through the addition of experienced and highly-skilled independent directors.
Latham currently sits as Chairman of the Board of USA Rugby and representative from Rugby Americas North to the World Rugby Council. His reelection to the 12-person Executive Committee, on which he has served since 2011, is for a term of four years
“I am honored and excited to serve on the World Rugby EXCO for another four years, especially with such accomplished and committed colleagues,” said Latham. “It promises to be an eventful time in global rugby and the breadth of experience and perspectives represented on EXCO will serve the global game well.”
Latham is joined on the Executive Committee by World Rugby Chairman Bill Beaumont (England), Vice-Chairman Agustin Pichot (Argentina), Chief Executive Brett Gosper, John Jeffrey (Scotland), Brett Robinson (Australia), Pierre Camou (France) Mark Robinson (New Zealand), Pat Whelan (Ireland) and Oregan Hoskins (South Africa).
World Rugby has also added two new independent directors, Wendy Luhabe and Mervyn Davies, onto its Executive Committee.
