Austin Huns Rugby Announces New Partnership: Spectrum Sports to Broadcast All Seven Home Game
AUSTIN, TX (January 30, 2017) – The Austin Huns are excited to announce today a new partnership with Spectrum Sports, in which all seven of the team’s home games for the 2017 season will be broadcasted exclusively on Spectrum Sports in Texas.
This partnership is a milestone achievement for the local rugby club as 2017 also marks the debut season for the newly formed Austin Huns Elite Team, which was first unveiled this past November in a special pre-season match against the United States Air Force XV’s Select Squad.
“Myself and the entire Huns organization could not be more thrilled to unveil this exciting partnership with Spectrum Sports,” says Austin Huns General Manager Thierry Daupin. “We expect an exciting season ahead, and our club cannot wait to share Huns rugby with even more sports fans across Texas. The Huns very much look forward to growing our fan base hand-in-hand with the Spectrum Sports team.”
The first home game of the 2017 season took place on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. CT and it was a very exciting match against the seven-time national XV’s champion, San Diego’s O.M.B.A.C. Rugby, at Huns Field, which is located at 4107 Nixon Lane, Austin, Texas. From there, the next few months will offer a season full of entertaining competition and high-level rugby as the Huns play other Texas teams, such as the Dallas Reds and the Austin Blacks of the Red River Rugby Conference (RRC), along with some of the top teams around the country, including Rugby Utah, the Glendale Raptors, and NOLA Rugby.
