DALLAS, TX – The Dallas Harlequins RFC are delighted to announce Danny Carlton as new Men’s Head Coach. Bringing 12 years of professional coaching experience, Danny transitions from his previous role as Attack Coach & Performance Analyst, which he has held with ‘Quins since 2018.
“It’s a great honor to take over one of the most famous Rugby clubs in the USA. I’m delighted to be trusted to lead Dallas Harlequins in what is a fantastic time for the club, in our 5oth year, as well as the Dallas rugby community as a whole with the arrival of MLR and Dallas Jackals.”
With a playing career that has seen him ply his trade with established English clubs Manchester Rugby Club and Fylde RFC, as well as professional spells in Italy, Danny has coached through this period working with aspiring players in Scottish Rugby’s National High Performance Pathways, and English Premiership side, Sale Sharks’ Talent ID Pathway.
Club President John Conmee said “As a club we are excited to have secured the services of such an exciting and talented coach and look forward to working closely with him once the season eventually starts.”
Carlton added, “We are coming off the back of a positive season where we’ve seen a lot of our guys develop in front of us. My aim now is to take this to the next level. There’s a lot of parts already in place-we’ve an excellent culture, have graduated players and staff into MLR-Professional Rugby in back to back years under Elaine’s tenure and so I’m fortunate to inherit that.
“Any Quins player will be a ‘team first’ person-and from there we want them to not just enjoy their best rugby and rugby experience to date with us-but to commit to and attack the ambitions they have, whatever level. It’s an easy thing to say but its stamp will be on everything we do. We know our identity; have consciously built our Coaching Staff, resources to players and program around this, have-and will continue to-recruit around this and are very positive about the outlook entering a landmark year for the club.”
We are very excited for the season to start and look forward to seeing you continue the growth and development of the club. #QUINSFAMILY #Bornonamountaintop #ALLQUIN
