Top NFL Free Agents For Rugby Heads

Tuesday at noon marks the start of free agency in the NFL, which is one of the most exciting times during the football calendar year. Some of the top talents in the entire league will hit the market early next week and will be free to sign with any of the 32 teams. Here’s some of 2014’s top free agents:

Jairus Byrd, Free Safety: Byrd, who played with the Buffalo Bills last season, put together one of his finest fall’s in the NFL to date. In only 11 games in 2013, the All-Pro safety snagged four interceptions, along with six pass deflections and one forced fumble. Byrd was a terror in the air this season preventing may quarterbacks from having successful outings this season. After putting up impressive numbers in a limited number snaps, this Pro Bowler is due a pretty hefty paycheck in a few weeks. Possible Landing Spots: Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles

Eric Decker, Wide Receiver: This season Decker lead the three-headed monster that is the Denver Broncos wide receiving corps. After putting up some impressive numbers this past fall, 1,288 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns on 87 receptions, Decker is alos expected to enjoy a pretty big paycheck in a few days. 2013’s efforts showed that Decker’s 1,000 yard season from 2012 was no fluke. With a reliable quarterback at the helm, Decker’s sky is the limit. Possible Landing Spots: Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, and New York Jets 

Darren McFadden, Running Back: McFadden is one of the most interesting free agents this spring. Three seasons ago McFadden was one of the best running backs in the entire league, however the past two seasons have been riddled with injuries. The question remains… Can Darren McFadden regain his superb form? There’s a chance that a change in scenary could change the ex-Raider’s fortunes. Possible Landing Spots: Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins  New Orleans Saints.
