RWU Sunday NFL Update

I was extremely close to going 3-0 last week, with just one bad prediction in the Bears-49ers game. After the 2-1 weekend my overall record has increased to 17-17. Now that I’m at the .500 mark, I’m hoping this weekend puts me over .500 for good. Here are my picks!

Expect to see a lot of good things today from these two. Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and WR Stevie Johnson
  1. Buffalo Bills (4-6) at Indianapolis Colts (6-4): So far, every time I have included the Bills in my weekly picks they have lost. But this weekend things will be different. It is a must win for Buffalo if they want any real shot at going to the playoffs. Both the Colts and Bills have a comparable game in the past couple weeks, both played at the New England Patriots. Both lost, Buffalo by six and Indianapolis by 35. If this doesn’t give Buffalo Bills fans hope, I don’t know what does. My Prediction: 27-17, Bills
  2. San Francisco 49ers (7-2-1) at New Orleans Saints (5-5): The Saints have done a complete 180 after their first four weeks of the season. They began the season 0-4, but are now 5-0 and just beat the previously undefeated Atlanta Falcons. It is extremely hard to stop Drew Brees and company, which makes for an upset possible. By the way, 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh has decided to bench starting quarterback Alex Smith in favor of second year man Colin Kaepernick. Do I like the move? Yes, because I believe Kaepernick is a better QB. But you don’t make that move when you have seven wins and are first in your division. My Prediction: 28-20, Saints
  3. Green Bay Packers (7-3) at New York Giants (6-4): For me, this was a tough one. The Giants aren’t playing too hot right now. But one can figure that Eli Manning eventually has to throw a touchdown. Luckily for him the Green Bay defense is pretty banged up. But if they Giants really want the “W” they’ll need their defensive front for to get in the backfield and after Aaron Rodgers. My Prediction: 24-21 Giants
