JACKSONVILLE, FL – This Saturday, 13 August, the Jacksonville Axemen and the Atlanta Rhinos will meet at the University of North Florida (UNF) soccer fields. Upon their arrival, the two teams will compete for the Southern Conference (SC) 2016 USA Rugby League (USARL) Championship Game.
This championship game, kicking off at 5:30 p.m., determines which team represents the SC in the 2016 USARL National Championship. The national championship game takes place on Saturday, 27 August, in Boston, MA.
A tale of the two teams through the 2016 SC USARL Season
Going into the SC USARL Championship, the Atlanta Rhinos (3-3-1) are defending SC USARL Champs. Also, Atlanta has won three straight matchups. In fact, Atlanta’s last two victories were over the favored Tampa Mayhem.
However, the Jacksonville Axemen come into the matchup 7-0-0. Actually, Jacksonville has not lost a home game (UNF Soccer Fields) since 2008.
Overall, the Axemen is expected to win tomorrow’s contest, anything is possible. However, given Atlanta’s end of season momentum, the Rhinos could take the upset.
