Northeast Rugby Academy Announces High School Academy Program for Boston Area

BOSTON, MA: The Northeast Academy’s Boston training hub is accepting registrations for four High School 7s Development Camps that will be offered throughout September and October. The first camp is scheduled for Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Pine Banks Park, 1087 Main St., Malden, MA 02148. Dates and locations for the other three camps are as follows:

· Sunday September 25, 2016 – 7:00pm to 8:30pm at Lincoln-Sudbury High School, 390 Lincoln Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776
· Sunday October 9, 2016 – 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Pine Banks Park, 1087 Main St, Malden, MA 02148
· Sunday October 23, 2016 – 7:00pm to 8:30pm at Lincoln-Sudbury High School, 390 Lincoln Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776

At the conclusion of the camps, Academy selectors will invite stand out players to join the Academy’s formal program to compete for a roster spot on the inaugural Northeast Academy Boston 7s teams, of which there will be one Men’s squad & one Women’s squad. Both teams will make their debuts in the Premiere HS bracket at the annual NY7s Tournament, in New York City on Saturday, November 26th.
In addition, players selected for the tournament will have the opportunity to prove themselves in front of selectors from the Community Olympic Development Program (CODP), a Northeast Academy partner.
Registration is open to male and female athletes currently enrolled in High School in and around the Boston area.

Note: The Academy and the Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization are both assessing any potential impact related to MIAA regulations, to ensure proper compliance is upheld for players also participating in Varsity sports.

Northeast Academy
The Northeast Academy, with training squads in New York City, Boston and Buffalo, is a National Development Academy that has been sanctioned by USA Rugby as the official Academy (Men & Women) in the Northeast of America and as a designated pathway to the USA Eagles National Team selection. The purpose of the Academy is to identify, develop and prepare Sevens rugby players with the intention of placing ambitious athletes onto the USA National teams and future USA Olympic teams. The Academy will provide athletes with top level coaching, physical preparation, and playing competition to accelerate their personal development as Sevens players in line with current USA Eagles High Performance criteria.
